Home Transition/Search Schedule of Services The Eagle |
This
column will normally appear in the
Eagle. Since the Eagle is not published in the summer, we are
distributing
this column separately. Transition
Report In this
column, the wardens, vestry and search committee will request input
from and
offer reports to the parish on the transition process. One of our
first
tasks is to nominate a slate of candidates for the search committee to
be
elected at a special parish meeting this fall. The
search
committee will be your representatives in identifying a short list of
candidates for rector to be presented to the vestry. The vestry
will
discern which candidate to call. The search committee is a
committee of
the vestry that will include the wardens and up to 10 other
parishioners (including
3-5 vestry members). Criteria
for Search Committee Membership:
The
nominating committee will prepare a slate of candidates taking into
consideration the criteria listed above, demographic diversity,
representatives
of both Sunday services, new and long-term members, representatives of
our
various ministries including children and youth programs, music,
liturgy,
parish life, stewardship and outreach. The goal is a committee
that will
represent a cross section of our parish. Call to
Action: All parishioners are invited to submit names to be considered
for
nomination to the search committee. Please
contact any member of the
nominating committee…Joan Beattie (beattiej@kent-school.edu), Chris
Boshears (CBB@christopherbboshears.com), Winston Fowlkes
(jwfowlkes@earthlink.net) and Mary Schinke
(mary@schinkelaw.com)...to
suggest a search committee candidate. Please consider the criteria
and
include in your suggestion the qualifications of the person and the
reasons the
person would be a good search committee candidate. The deadline
for
submitting names is July 4th. - Mary
