Delegates to Convention |  | | DELEGATE: MARLENE SMITH Marlene is a retired marriage and family therapist and is enjoying retirement immensely. With five grown children and four grandchildren, there are many family events. She serves on the board of the Susan B. Anthony Project, and the NW Chapter of the United Nations Association, and the advisory board of the Judea Garden. She is a member of the Washington Garden Club and the Mad Gardeners. She develops and maintains two gardens, one here in Washington and one in Rhode Island. Here at St. John s she has served on the Vestry and been in charge of St. John's Loaves and Fishes participation. Marlene currently serves as chair of the Outreach Committee and is also a licensed Chalice Bearer which she considers a distinct privilege. She was a delegate to Diocesan Convention in 2009 and found it to be both interesting and inspiring.
ALTERNATE DELEGATE: GAEL HAMMER Gael was born and bred in Kansas. He holds a Masters degree in English and a PhD in Theatre. He worked as a University Professor for 12 years. He has two daughters and a grandson. A Washington resident for 25 years Gael lives with his partner, Gary Goodwin.
